Beef, Quinoa and Veggie Burgers

I received some of the best ground beef that I’ve ever had from a friend a couple months ago. It is just as good as my Montana beef. Which I never would have conceived possible.

I had just made some quinoa muffins , and had some leftover quinoa and veggies.

And this was one of those recipes that you throw in a little of this, and a sprinkle of that…and it was absolutely deLIGHTful. Smokey, savory, moist, beefy, and barbecued. Enough said?

Hopefully I can remember all that was in it!

Fire up the bar-bay!




I made some whole wheat naan (maybe I’ll blog it later) for buns. It, too, was perfect.


The bailey’s version of a whopper. (Neither of us have actually ever had one!!)


Cheese makes everything better. And this is extra sharp.


Add some greens, and you’ve got yourself a challenge-worthy dinner!

  1. 1 lb ground beef
  2. 3/4 cooked quinoa (cook in beef broth instead of plain water)
  3. 1/3 cup onion, chopped
  4. 1/3 cup pepper, chopped (I had green and red)
  5. 1/3 cup zucchini, grated
  6. 2 Tbsp ketchup
  7. 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  8. 1 Tbsp tamari (or soy sauce)
  9. 1 Tbsp worcestershire
  10. 1/2 tsp pepper
  11. 1/2 tsp salt
  12. 1/2+ tsp oregano
  13. 1/2+ tsp basil
  14. 1 egg, lightly beaten
  1. Mix it all up.
  2. Shape into patties.
  3. Grill away.
  4. Add any fixin's that makes your burger PERfect.
  5. Serve with a side salad.
  6. One word: YUM!
