Okay, I have to admit when my sister first suggested putting spinach in my smoothie, I thought it was CRAZY! I tried it, and there hasn’t been a day I don’t put a !CUP! of spinach in my fruit smoothies. Now, to think I”m adding grass to my smoothies is a stretch…but try it! It’s soo good and very refreshing.
Wheat grass has tons of health benefits. Great in minerals and some studies say it has more nutrients than veggies. But we can consider it a serving of veggies the EASY way. Yep, even if you have kids (or adults) who are anti-broccoli, this is a way to sneak in some balance in the diet. There are tons of recipes out there on it, but I loved this combo.
All you need:
wheat grass (very cheap in the produce section. looks like a small patch of sod!)
fresh juice from any fruit. I used LIGHT orange juice
frozen fruit (I used frozen peach, mango, and pineapple. You can use one fruit, or any combo. Grapes, banana, etc.)
***I use frozen fruit so i don’t have to add ice–better consistency
Cut a section out of your wheat grass, just above the seed.
Wash the grass. Add it to a blender. Trust me, it’s GOOD!!
Add frozen fruit.
Blend it up!
Goin in for a sip!
enjoy!
Thankful month!
I’m thankful for my steady job(s), my warm and enviting house, and my reliable car.
